Thala Ajith was last seen on screens in the movie Nerkonda Paarvai which was the official Tamil remake of hit Hindi film Pink. Ajith has teamed up again with director H Vinoth for Valimai and the shooting of the movie is on hold due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Reportedly, Ajith will be seen as a cop, and will sport a new look. The latest report making the rounds is that Ajith will repeat his Vivegam act in Valimai. Ajith had acted in director Siruthai Siva's thriller Vivegam which had an action sequence in its climax where Ajith was seen shirtless. Now it has been said that Ajith might again go shirtless like Vivegam in Valimai, for a fight sequence with villain Karthikeya.

It has been said that Director H Vinoth has completed 50% of Valimai shooting, and the team is waiting for the pandemic to end and resume shooting. Valimai is produced by Boney Kapoor, and also starring Huma Qureshi, has music scored by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
