Ajith is not only one of the most followed superstar in South Indian cinema but is also an inspiration to his fans on how to come up in life by the straightforward ways. But in a shocking incident one of Ajith's fans has used the icon's very name to pull off a fraud.

Ayyappan who hails from the Kattapuli next to Vickramasinghapuram area in Tirunelveli district is said to be a hardcore fan of Ajith. His wife Rajeshwari has lodged a complaint at the collectors office against one Siva hailing from Thalaiythu accusing him of defrauding her husband to the tune of rupees one lakh ten thousand.

According to her complaint Siva duped the couple by stating that Ajith is planning to build houses worth rupees fifteen lakhs for the needy in several districts through his fans clubs. He had then claimed that he is very close to Ajith's manager and then asked them to pay the above mentioned amount and he would arrange for building them a house .

To convince Iyappan and Rajalakhsmi futher, Siva had used a man to impersonate as Ajith's manager's office staff Shankar who assured them that they will get a new house. The couple who were already in debts once again borrowed money and sold things they had and paid rupees one lakh ten thousand in installments to Siva.

After several months when Siva did not take any effort to build a house to them they had questioned him. He had threatened legal action against them showing them a bond that Iyappan had signed for procuring a deed. After the couple persistently approached the fraudster to return their money he had made death threats against them.

Following the complaint Siva has been arrested and legal action initiated against him. The incident of scamming an AK fan using Ajith's very name has created a sensation in the area.
