Director Selva has been one of the popular directors of Tamil cinema, being in the industry for almost 3 decades and for directing some memorable movies. He has been widely remembered for introducing Thala Ajith in Tamil cinema with Amaravathi.

Selva has delivered several successful movies at the box office including Karna, Unnaruge Naan Irundhal, Naan Avan Illai, Pooveli etc. Now, Selva is directing Vanangamudi starring Arvind Swami in the lead alongside Simran, Ritika Singh, Nandita Swetha and Chandini Tamilarasan.

As the film is expected to release post lockdown, on the personal front Selva's son Rajiv Karna is set to get married in the tough times of Coronavirus pandemic. Rajiv Karna is an engineering graduate and will get married to Meera on August 30 at A.K.R.Mahal in Virugambakkam.
