Ajith Kumar's latest outing Valimai became a blockbuster hit but with mixed reviews from the audience. The run time of the film was 179 minutes initially. However, the film was then trimmed by 15 minutes and the crispier version was played later on to make it more interesting for the audience. H Vinoth has finally reacted to the criticisms that Valimai faced and his answer has garnered wide attention from the film buffs.
H Vinoth said, "After seeing a super-fast first half loaded with some solid action moments, people were not ready to see the calmer sequences in the second half. Psychologically, they are not ready for the pace variation. Despite talking about a topical issue faced by the youths, they do not pay enough attention. They saw a fast-paced first half and expected the latter half also to be the same. They seem to want a uniformly paced movie. This is what I heard from many people. This generation's audience is the restless people who are used to seeing YouTube shorts".
"They have lost their patience. Only after showing the film to a lot of people and we ourselves watching it multiple times, do we release the film believing that the content is good to go and it will keep the audience engrossed. But the thing is they (audience) do not see the film with the same effect that we see. They are able to experience only 30 - 40% of what we actually saw. The majority of the theatres are not equipped enough with the right sound systems and all these aspects play a bigger role in making the film appeal to the audience," he added.
Valimai was produced by Boney Kapoor under Bayview Projects LLP in collaboration with Zee Studios, as co-producer and distributor. The film stars Ajith Kumar, Karthikeya, Huma Qureshi and Gurbani Judge. The film score was composed by Ghibran and the songs were composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
