Thunivu, which is set to clash with Vijay’s Varisu on January 11 in one of the biggest box office battles in recent times. Vinoth has spent almost five years and three films with Ajithand the latest buzz suggests that the film has a strong connection with his blockbuster film Mankatha.
While Ajith's grey-shaded role is referred to as AK in the Gangstaa song neither the trailer nor the character posters revealed his name in Thunivu. This combined with the Bangkok connection, and actor Arjun's spotting during the Thunivu shooting, has fuelled talks of Ajith reprising Vinayak Mahadev from Mankatha (2011).
Ajith will be reportedly having his 'Mankatha' screen name Vinayak Mahadev as his character name in 'Thunivu' and that's the reason why he opted to do a negative character in H Vinoth's direction.
Latest buzz on this subject is that Ajith's character name will not be revealed in Thunivu till the end of the movie. Reportedly, this movie will keep the suspense element intact till the climax. It remains to be seen how many of these speculations turn out to be true, and we have until Thunivu's release to confirm the same.
The bank heist thriller which stars Manju Warrier as the female lead, also stars Veera, Samuthirakani, Ajay, John Kokken, Mahanadhi Shankar, Amir, Pavni, Cibi Chandran, GM Sundar, Bhagavathy Perumal and others in key roles.
