Recent reports suggested that Ajith Kumar's 'AK61' might possibly clash with Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' on Pongal day at the box office. In the meantime, Ajith Kumar resumed shooting for 'AK61' earlier this month. The film is touted to be a bank heist thriller directed by H Vinoth and produced by Boney Kapoor.

The makers completed major schedules in Chennai and Andhra Pradesh. Currently, they are shooting in Andhra Pradesh. The latest news is that the team is planning a 21-day long schedule in Bangkok to film some high-octane action sequences with the Ultimate Star. It is also being reported that AK has played a negative role after almost a decade in this movie.

The team is planning to complete the shoot by September. Manju Warrier plays the female lead opposite Ajith Kumar while Veera, Samuthirakani, John Kokken, Ajay and Mahanadhi Shankar are cast in pivotal roles. With music by Ghibran, 'AK61' has cinematography by Nirav Shah. It is speculated that the film is titled 'Vallamai'.
