In 2011, Ajith was approached to play a special role in Sridevi's comeback entertainer 'English Vinglish', which went on to become a big hit in Hindi. Why did the Kollywood superstar accept to play a cameo? Superstars don't play guest roles that easily. There is a reason. Ajith has always respected Sridevi immensely and so he was happy to be a part of 'English Vinglish'.

When the 'Athiloka Sundari' expressed a wish to produce a Tamil film (her husband Boney Kapoor has been a noted Bollywood producer) back then, Ajith reportedly gave a word to her that he will work with Boney some day. For years it never happened due to various factors.

As fate would have it, Sridevi died in February but the tragic untimely death hasn't buried the promise that Ajith made to her. The actor would be the last one ti dishonour his word.

He has reportedly given Boney his much-in-demand dates. After he completes 'Viswasam', Ajith will act in Boney's home production in 2019. The film could most probably be directed by H Vinoth of 'Khakee' fame.
