Who should have batted at No. 4 for India in the World Cup campaign has been a much-debated question. The question has been so popular and the answers so diverse that someone just joked that Nadel should have!
Well, someone has thrown up an interesting name. It's Ajinkya Rahane. Former BCCI Secretary Sanjay Jagdale is of the view that Rahane would have helped a great deal.
"Rahane should have been selected to bat at No. 4. India had been experimenting for three months with players who don't have a proven track record outside the Indian sub-continent. Rahane has always scored in England. Besides, Rishabh Pant made test 100s in England and Australia. Vijay Shankar just doesn't have any experience of playing in England. I have always said that the middle order looked weak and so, Rahane should be in," Jagdale said.
He also suggested that he is not enamoured of either Dinesh Karthik or Ambati Rayudu.
