Bollywood's latest release, "Shaitaan," has made a significant impact with its strong debut, as reported by Variety.
It is also the first-ever collaboration between Mukesh Ambani's Jio Studios, Ajay Devgn's Devgn Films, and Panorama Studios. "Shaitaan" has now seen a mighty global weekend collection for itself at $9.8 million, including figures from India that qualify for the producers. The film’s weekend overseas tally now stands at $1.8 million, which is shaping up to be the second highest opening for Devgn overseas, after Panorama’s "Drishyam 2" went to $2.3 million in 2022.
Vikas Bahl will direct the upcoming horror-thriller "Shaitaan," featuring Ajay Devgn, R. Madhavan, Jyotika, and Janki Bodiwala. Effectively penned by Aamil Keeyan Khan and Krishnadev Yagnik, the picture traces Kabir (Devgn) and his family as they are hijacked by a stranger into a nightmarish mystery.
Along with domestic success, Panorama Studios is also bringing international raves. The Indian superhit thriller "Drishyam" is getting a makeover in English. A notable collaboration on the part of Panorama Studios is with some U.S. production companies: Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films.
The movie was first done in Malayalam in 2013, with a Hindi remake in 2015 starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu. The second part, "Drishyam 2," saw its release in 2022 and went on to cross over $43 million at the foreign box office.
Tearaway Film’s firm Panorama Management has acquired international remake rights to all films and is handling international adaptations for the films, like the film’s Korean version currently in works with Anthology Studios and the Spanish language remake now in the closing stages of prep.
