Yesterday several highly talented personalities from various fields were honoured with the prestigious Padma Awards at an event Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. President Pranab Mukherjee conferred five Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan and 43 Padma Shri awards at the Civil Investiture Ceremony.

In the field of cinema, the President presented actor-filmmaker Ajay Devgn, actor Anupam Kher and filmmaker Madhur R Bhandarkar. Devgn and Bhandarkar were conferred with a Padam Shri while Anupam Kher received Padam Bhushan.

Quite elated over his win, Ajay was quoted saying that "It is an amazing feeling". The actor has been busy shooting in Bulgaria for his film 'Shivaay' and he came down specially for this ceremony.

While Madhur posted a pic of his receiving the award on Twitter and wrote, "Overwhelmed by #Padmashri tweets.I wud like to thank each n everyone of u for all the encouragement Luv n support." Anupam Kher too expressed his happiness by tweeting and sharing few pics. "Thank you all for your kindness, support & wishes on my #PadmaBhushanHonour You'll always be my strength.:) #JaiHo," Kher wrote.
