Superstar Akshay Kumar is all set to portray the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the film 'Vedat Marathe Veer Daudale Saat'. This is going to be his debut Marathi film and recently he took to Instagram to share his first look as the character. While most of the netizens have reacted negatively, actor Ajay Devgan has shown faith in Akshay.

Akshay shared a clip in which he can be seen in the getup of Shivaji Maharaj walking down a courtroom. Reacting to the same, Ajay wrote, "Dear @akshaykumar, looking forward to seeing you essay the role of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in the Marathi film – Vedat Marathe Veer Daudle Saat. He is my favourite Maratha hero and I’m happy yet another film is being made saluting this great warrior.”

Akshay was quick to respond by saying, "Thank you bhai." Couple years back, Ajay was seen as another brave Maratha hero in the film 'Tanhaji' which also starred Sharad Kelkar as Shivaji Maharaj. However, given Akshay's lackluster performance as warrior king Prithiviraj Chauhan earlier this year, fans are concerned that he is going to ruin the character of Shivaji was not playing it with sincere prep.
