Superstar Ajay Devgan is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film 'Runway 34' and these days, he's busy with promotions of the same. Also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh and Boman Irani, the film is an aviation thriller and it is directed by Ajay himself.
The film was orginal titled 'Mayday' but few months before the release, makers decided to change it to 'Runway 34'. While speaking to press during the second trailer launch of the film, Ajay shared the reason behind the title change.
The actor said, "When there’s an emergency, you give the call of Mayday. But, I think, not many people were able to understand that title. The whole story of the film revolves around a runway called Runway 34. Why the pilot landed the plane on that runway, something which was an impossible task and should not have happened, that is the story."
Ajay further added, “A well-read person had, in fact, asked me the meaning of Mayday. He asked me if the film was based on Labour Day, so I got a bit scared." Talking about content of the film, Ajay said, "We have shown the aviation industry in a good light. It was not an easy film to shoot. When you watch the film, you’ll come to know what troubles pilots, ATC people and even the passengers face when there’s a situation like that. This story is not just about the turbulence in the air, but also on the ground. That when there is turbulence in someone’s life how he goes through it."
