Superstar Ajay Devgan made his Bollywood debut with the 1991 film 'Phool aur Kaante' and he has come a long way since then. Unlike many of his contemporaries from the 90s, Ajay constantly honed his skills and thus he is still relevant in the business. However, not many people know that Ajay used to carry a different name before making his debut in the film industry. Ajay's actual name was Vishal Devgan but he had to change it to stand apart from the crowd.
Now some might wonder how is 'Ajay' a distinct and unfamiliar compared to 'Vishal'. Ajay clarified this in a 2009 statement where he said, "Back then, when I was being launched, there were three other Vishals debuting at the same time and I had no choice but to change my name to Ajay so I wasn’t lost in the crowd. My old friends still call me VD (yeah, I know it sounds weird) and I changed the spelling of my surname at the behest of my mother, Veena, who has asked me to do it for many years. It makes her happy.”
On the work front, Ajay was last seen in a special appearance in Akshay Kumar's 'Sooryavanshi' and he has exciting films like 'Mayday', 'Maidaan' and others lined up for production.
