Superstar Rajinikanth's daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth who was married to actor Dhanush for 18 years separated from him in 2022. She now lives in her residence on St. Mary's Road in Tenampet, Chennai. On the 27th of February she lodged a complaint at the Tenampet police station that her costly jewels of around 60 soveriegns are missing from the locker in her house.

Aishwarya, has also named three staff members working for her as suspects and based on the complaint the police have registered a case and are investigating. According to the complaint Aishwarya Rajinikanth stated that she kept the valuables in the locker in 2019 after wearing them for sister Soundarya Rajinikanth's marriage. She apparently did not take them out for the past four years even after changing houses three times.

It is reported that the lockers were kept alternately at St. Mary's Road house in Chennai, Dhanush's CIT Nagar house and Rajini's house in Poes Garden. It has been informed in the complaint that the 3 servants working in the house not onlyh knew about the jewelery in the locker but also where the keys are kept. The reports have shocked netizens considering the daring theft in a VVIP's residence.
