Superstar Rajinikanth's magnum opus '2.0' directed by Shankar is touted as the costliest Indian film ever bankrolled by Lyca Productions.  The entire shooting is complete and since the film has extensive computer graphics works, it has missed its release schedules twice and in all probability will hit the screens by the end of the year.

'2.0' has Akshay Kumar as the chief antagonist and Amy Jackson as the romantic interest for Chitti the Robot character played by Rajini.  The Superstar also plays the role of Vaseergaran the scientist and in the original 2001 movie 'Enthiran' Aishwarya Rai was paired opposite him.  Sources close to the team suggest that there are scenes that reference to the original in the sequel and that Aishwarya Rai Bachan also appears in a few scenes. It is however unknown if she shot for the movie or the old footage has been used.
