Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan responds to Kalyan Jewellery ad controversy

While everyone went gaga over the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan coming together with her father-in-law, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, along with other superstars of the south for the inauguration of Kalyan Jewellers new store in Chennai, certain section of people were upset over the brand's print ad featuring the diva.
A controversy kicked up through the ad where Aishwarya appears decked in gold and seated majestically while a dark, impoverished boy is holding an umbrella to her. An organization wrote to Aishwarya stating that this ad promotes child labour and bonded labour and requested the actress and all concerned to withdraw the controversial ad.
In response to this, Aishwarya through her publicist send an open letter. It read thus - "Dear Farah Naqvi, Nisha Agrawal, Enakshi Ganguly, Bharti Ali, Madhu Mehra, Shantha Sinha, Harsh Mander and Mridula Bajaj... On the onset we would like to thank you on drawing our attention to the observation of the perception of the advertisement. Here is an attachment of the shot taken by somebody during the shoot. The final layout of the ad is entirely the prerogative of the creative team for a brand. However shall forward your article as a viewpoint that can be taken into consideration by the creative team of professional working on the brand visual communication. Thank you once again..."
