Aishwarya, Madhuri Dixit inspires Deepika Padukone

We heard that Deepika Padukone who is currently making waves through the trailers of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram-Leela’, went all out to get under the skin of her character for her career’s finest role, playing the effervescent Leela.

The actress who was extremely excited to work with one of Bollywood’s most sought after directors, studied the creative maverick’s previous films taking inspiration from the leading ladies of his most memorable work, especially Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’ and Madhuri Dixit as Devdas’ Chandramukhi.

Admitted Deepika, "I've watched all of Bhansali’s films and each of his female characters have been special and unforgettable with a life and story of their own, not overshadowed by any other element. I hope my part is as remembered and loved."

Set in the present day, landscape of Gujarat, woven with song and dance, ‘Ram-Leela’, takes audiences through love in turbulent times, where worlds collide, wars are fought and destinies are written in blood forever.

Eros International & Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Ram-Leela’ starring Ranveer Singh in lead is scheduled to release November 15th 2013.
