Mani Rathnam's next bilingual film has not been titled yet for its Tamil Version which has Vikram, Aishwarya Rai, Prithviraj, Priya Mani, Prabhu in the cast. In both the Hindi (Ravana) and Tamil versions of the film, Aishwarya plays the lead role as a Brahmin girl with a sound knowledge about classical music.

As the name 'Mani Rathnam' guarantees perfection in each and every feature of the film, the director wanted Aish to learn the basics of Classical music, so that it would be conducive to best render the performance in her role. It is well-known that Mani Rathnam seldom compromises and never accepts a 'No' for an answer; the actress has obliged to the director's prerequisite and has started learning Carnatic music from an expert.

As Amitabh Bachchan was hospitalized on his birthday October 11, 2008, following an abdominal pain, the actress is presently in Mumbai and would take part in shoot only after his complete recovery.
