The kind of trending on the weekend and a superb hold on Monday meant that 'Airlift' was set for a good score on the Republic Day holiday. This is exactly what happened as Tuesday brought in further 17.8 crore. With this, the film has now netted 72.5 crore already and that too in a matter of just five days.

This also means that the film has already scored better than the entire first week collections of Akshay Kumar's Holiday (67.46 crore), Housefull 2 (64.2 crore), Baby (63.82 crore) and Gabbar Is Back (60 crore), some of his biggest grossers till date. Point to be noted is that two of these films (Holiday, Housefull 2) went on to be 100 crore grossers and with Airlift enjoying a much greater momentum already, this milestone is going to be a cakewalk now.

It is also a given that the Raja Menon directed film would stand as Akshay Kumar's Biggest Week One ever as it is set to surpass first collections of Rowdy Rathore (79 crore), Singh Is Blinng (77.6 crore), Brothers (72.6 crore).

Everything now boils down to how rest of the weekdays (today and tomorrow) perform as that would decide the long run of Airlift. Though 5 crore on each of these days is a given, anything over 7 crore each would mean that Airlift would be unstoppable in week to come as well.

Airlift has now made a huge dent at the Box Office and it is time to consolidate and strike gold in days to come.

Note: All collections as per production and distributor sources
