In a shocking news, a flight from Trichy which was Dubai bound hit the Air Traffic Control tower in addition to hitting the compound wall when it was taking off. Following this, however, the flight was diverted to Mumbai where it landed safely.
It should be noted that all passengers are safe. Even after an inspection at Mumbai, the flight was given a thumbs up to continue its operation. The pilot and the co-pilot of the aircraft during the incident has been suspended until the investigation is completed.
Reportedly the Air India flight crushed the compound wall and ATC tower owing to the insufficient length of the runway. Civil Aviation Minister Suresh Prabhu had stated on his social page that he has ordered a third party organization to look into the safety aspects in Air India.
