Amid allegations from both the sides about political intervention in the South Indian Artistes Association (Nadigar Sangam) the ruling party of Tamil Nadu, AIADMK seems to have barred the actors who are the members of its party from contesting for any posts in the elections of the Sangam to be conducted on October 18.

The party high command seems to have asked its members who are actors by professions to refrain from contesting the election and not voice open support to neither groups contesting the elections. However, there are no restrictions for the party members to cast their vote for the candidates according to their discretion.

The elections will be a battleground between the team of incumbent office-bearers lead by the President R.Sarathkumar and the Pandavar Ani of actor Vishal and other rebel actors and their supporters.
