The last fight in 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' has been much lauded for its "poetic" effect.  Rhythmic and neat, it plays out even as a folk song is heard in the background.  As he stylishly bashes up the baddies, Allu Arjun spontaneously breaks into a dance to match with the lyrics of the folk song. Set to tune by Thaman in the shortest time, this one was written by Vijay Kumar in the Srikakulam dialect.  The Ram-Lakshman duo, who choreographed the superb fight, analyzed each and every word of the song and planned the stunts accordingly.  Fittingly, this song-cum-fight episode has turned out to be one of the major highlights of the family entertainer.

Interestingly, another Sankranthi film has something similar in store.  It's 'Darbar'.  The railway station fight involving Superstar Rajinikanth, Nivetha Thomas, a few transgenders and baddies is thematically similar.  The hero stylishly beats the baddies, keeping in tune with the beats of the song (not exactly, but sort of).  Like the 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' fight, this one too was composed by the Ram-Lakshman duo.  And it has stood out as one of the major highlights of 'Darbar', directed by AR Murugadoss.

This Sankranthi has given the industry a fresh idea related to stunt choreography.  Seems others are going to pick it up. If you are getting inspired by these fights, ensure that your hero has the swag to pull the fight off.
