A shocking incident has been reported from Uttar Pradesh's Agra, where a man electrocuted his daughter and then slit her throat when he found her talking to a neighbour's son. She was allegedly in a relationship with him.

The incident happened on Saturday night when in the in Salempur Khutiana village of Firozabad district when the man, identified as Harivansh Kumar, spotted his 22-year-old daughter Pooja Kumar speaking to their neighbour's son outside their house. In a fit of rage, he got into an argument with her, after which he slit her throat with a machete before electrocuting her. A complaint was then lodged by the victim's brother, following which the accused confessed to killing his daughter.

Harivansh Kumar was booked under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code and has been sent to jail following a brief interrogation.
