'Agnyaathavaasi' to face challenge in Chennai

We recently reported that 'Agnyaathavaasi' was expected to garner spectacular bookings in Chennai.

And it has, on Day 1. By netting Rs. 24 lacs from 51 theatres, the Power Star-starrer has created a huge record.

It may be recalled that, last year, 'Katamarayudu' did Rs. 48 lacs (for the full run) as against Baahubali's Rs. 1.65 Cr. If it has to cross the No. 2 film (read 'SPYder'), PSPK25 will have to make more than Rs. 88 lacs.

With Suriya's 'Thaanaa Serndha Koottam', Vikram's 'Sketch' and Prabhu Deva's 'Gulebagavali' arriving on the 12th, PSPK25 faces a stiff challenge ahead.
