Producer C Kalyan, whose 'Jai Simha' was a Sankranthi hit, has on Wednesday said that the failure of 'Agnyaathavaasi' had a spillover effect on the Balakrishna film as well.
"The audiences prefer to watch more and more movies when they are good. This Pongal, I felt bad that the film ('Agnyaathavaasi') that released before 'Jai Simha' didn't do well. Usually, when three good films are playing in a complex, the fourth one would get footfalls even if it's bad. There was a time when small films looked at benefiting from the spillover effect of a big film that is good," he said.
He denied that there are any differences between him and Dil Raju, who is distributing 'Tholi Prema' this season. C Kalyan's 'Inttelligent', directed by Vinayak and starring Sai Dharam Tej, will release on Feb 9. A day later will come 'Tholi Prema' of Varun Tej.
