A special song featuring Lakshmi Manchu and a group of dancers was released on International Women's Day on Wednesday. The song was shot as part of the making of 'Agni Nakshatram', the upcoming movie starring the Maohan Babu-Lakshmi duo.
Titled 'Telusa Telusa', the song is conceived around the need to resist the suppression of women. Junior dancers jive with the heroine, hold placards calling for women's rights, and say that the subjugation is over. The declaration is powered by Kasarla Shyam's lyrics. Rendered by Sunitha Sarathy, Sireesha Bhagavatula, and Aditi Bhavaraju, the Achu Rajamani composition also comes with a rap.
Produced by Sri Lakshmi Prasanna Pictures and Manchu Entertainment, the film has Samuthirakani as a cop. Chitra Shukla of 'Rangula Ratnam' fame seems to have a character role. Viswant and Siddique have other roles.
Written and directed by Vamsee Krishna Malla, its cinematography is done by Gokul Barathi. Manchu Mohan Babu and Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna have jointly produced the film.
The film's release date will be made official soon.
