Vishal, who has been at the receiving end of trolling on social media following the Jallikattu controversy, has deactivated his Twitter account. He has suggested that he feels saddened to know that certain people are spreading misinformation that has the effect of maligning his image.

At a press meet held today in Chennai, Vishal once again reaffirmed that he is neither a supporter nor an ambassador of any kind for the Animal Rights organization PETA. "Such rumors that create false impressions among the people totally dishearten me", he said.

Vishal has urged that people buy only credible information that is officially posted on the respective social media handles or television channels, and disregard rumors that only lead to confusion. He has once again made his position on Jallikattu clear: It's a part of Tamil Nadu's tradition and he will always support it.
