Big Leap! After 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' Mayur Sakhare sings for 'Bajirao Mastani'

Budding singer Mayur Sakhare who has also been a backing vocalist for 'Yamla Pagla Deewana' and 'Tanu Weds Manu Returns' in the past bagged an opportunity to sing two songs for Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s upcoming film Bajirao Mastani`. Sakhare is relatively new to the industry and has got an opportunity to work on Bhansali`s new project through his good friend Shreyas Puranik. Puranik was assisting Bhansali on the musical front.
Sakhare has sung the Marathi version of 'Gajanana' while the Hindi one is sung by Sukhwinder Singh. The singer has also given his voice to Fitoori` that is sung by Vaishali Mhade. The song Fitoori` has a few more singers and he is one of those. "I did not record the songs in the studio first. I had to sing live during the shoot of the song sequence in the film with the other singers. The shoot for the same began at around 12 or 12:30 in the midnight and went on till the wee hours of 2 to 2:30 in the morning of the shoot. I had to sing the song for a good 15 times," laughed out Sakhare.
The song was later recorded in a studio. He feels his singing skills add to his credibility, revealed the singer. Sakhare is singing a song for a Marathi film Family Aa Rahi Hai`. This is Sakhare`s first Marathi film project. He has earlier sung songs for Marathi albums. He also sang the title track of Colors animated series Suraj-The Rising Star`. The singer, who has gained formal musical training from the Suresh Wadkar Institute, has been performing on stage since he was in the seventh grade.
