The other day, Trisha was abused in social media due to the perception that she was against Jallikattu owing to her long standing association with PETA.

Now PETA`s spokesperson V Manilal has clarified that the actress was never a Brand Ambassador of their organisation. They roped her in for their campaigns against cruelty to dogs as the top heroine is a popular supporter of animal rights, especially the dogs.

However, Manilal has criticised Trisha for her support to Jallikattu as it contradicts with her support to dogs and pet animals.

It is to be noted that the same organisation criticised Suriya`s support for Jallikattu as the actor`s effort to promote his upcoming film C3` (better known as 'S3'). Suriya has since sent a legal notice to PETA to tender an unconditional apology for such an offensive comment.
