Hours after the US Capitol was stormed by his angry supporters, Donald Trump has made conciliatory noises. The outgoing President said that he will ensure a smooth transition of power to the President-elect Donald Trump.
After the Congress certified the Presidential results, Trump said, "A new administration will be inaugurated January 20. My focus now turns to ensure a smooth, orderly and seamless transition of power." He added, "This moment calls for healing and reconciliation."
Trump noted that those who stormed the US Capitol have defiled the seat of American democracy. As per the Republican leader, they do not represent America.
Meanwhile, Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg has announced Trump is blocked from posting anything on the social media platform for the next two weeks or until the peaceful transition of power is complete.
