After 'Sahasam', audience will accept me in action roles: Naga Chaitanya

Naga Chaitanya is in 'Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo' mode. In this interview, the 'Premam' actor shares his experience about working with Gautham Menon and AR Rahman, why this time choosing an action movie is a different case, his marriage, debuting in Tamil cinema and more.
Are you tensed because 'SSS' is coming to theatres after a year since it was planned to be released?
We wanted to release the Telugu and Tamil versions at a time. There is no need to be tensed. Releasing a month after 'Premam', 'SSS' is a different world altogether. The film is very different from 'Premam' and the content is refreshing.
It was a pleasure working in the music direction of AR Rahman sir after 'Ye Maya Chesave'. As is known, music is very important to this movie.
The title is lifted from an iconic song of your father Nagarjuna. What is the title justification? The trailer suggests you are out to fight with courage.
The second half has elements of suspense thriller and action. The first half, however, is more of an extension of 'YMC' spiritually. Although I am a guy-next-door character here as well, the situations my character is in in 'SSS' is totally different from the three-phased love saga of 'Premam'. Living up to the title, the guy puts up a courageous fight in saving his girl from a threatening situation.
Since 'SSS' has action in good measure, how nervous or confident, especially because your previous action genre flicks like 'Josh', 'Dhada' and 'Dochey' didn't work well?
This is a different case because Gautham Menon's characterizations are at a higher level. Not only is the body language a makeover, but also the action is realistic. I feel that just as after 'YMC' I became more acceptable in romantic movies, I will be accepted in action movies after 'SSS'. I now have the maturity to make the right judgement with respect to action films, something I didn't have before. It's true that love stories are my comfort zone and the result that 'Premam' got has only boosted my confidence in trying films of this genre.
When are you debuting in Tamil?
It will happen next year. In fact, I was to do both the versions of 'SSS'. It was not possible because the Tamil version had gone on the floors before the Telugu one. I have requested Gautham Menon to cast me in both the languages the next time he makes a bi-lingual.
There are quite many speculations about when you and Akhil are going to get married. Where does the truth lie?
Before me, Akhil will get married. The plan is to hold his marriage in next May in Rome, Italy. His engagement is in December.
What are you up-and-coming movies? Is it true that the film with Kalyan Krishna is a remake?
Kalyan Krishna's film is a straight one, a story penned by him. It will go on the floors from tomorrow. It's no remake. As I have already said in a previous interview, it's a romantic film on the lines of 'Ninne Pelladatha'.
Director Krishna's film has the story by David Nathan, who penned the story of 'Gentleman'.
