'Kattappa' Sathyaraj has finally apologized to Kannada people for any offence he may have caused through his statements made many years ago. Through a videographed message, he tried to drive home the message that the release of 'Baahubali-2' shouldn't be disallowed because of him.
"It has come to my notice that my statements made many years ago during the Cauvery water agitation has led to tension among the people of Karnataka. I would like to say that I am not against Kannadigas or their State. My assistant for three decades has been a Kannada man. I tender my apologies for what I said 9 years ago. I am just one of the many workers who have worked on 'Baahubali-2'. My comments shouldn't be affect the film," Sathyaraj said.
The now-nationally famous actor's presence in the movie outraged sections of Kannada activists, who decided to stall the magnum opus's release on April 28. With Sathyaraj's apology and SS Rajamouli's appeal yesterday, the activists could well rethink their stance.
