Ileana D'Cruz has pooh-poohed the obsession with navel in South Indian films. In her latest interview with a national daily, the actress suggested that she was frustrated with the "objectification" of women in her films.
Explicitly, she has said that the navel obsession evident in her debut film, 'Devadasu', baffled her. She went on to do 'Pokiri' (in which Mahesh Babu's character nearly misbehaves with her character copiously), 'Kedi', 'Khatarnak', 'Rakhi' and 'Munna' in Telugu.
But it was while doing 'Aata', in which also she was objectified, that Ileana thought enough was enough. Her subsequent Telugu films like 'Jalsa' and 'Kick' were different as far as the depiction of her character was concerned.
