Mohan Babu may not be a legend like the great NTR, but K Raghavendra Rao feels that he is comparable to the greatest Telugu cinema icon of all times in at least one aspect. It is Babu's skill at delivering dialogues.
Announcing the launch of Ravana, which has now come to be known as the biggest ever multi-starrer film coming from the brains from the South, the star director praised the dexterity of Mohan Babu. "Mohan Babu can deliver dialogues like NTR. Ravana will match the standards of all the good films that have come in our combination."
The prestigious film will go to the floors in 2012. KRR, who has so far only made films on celebrated devotees and saints (Annamayya, Sri Ramadasu, Manjunatha, Pandurangadu), is making a film on a character with negative shades, Ravana of Lanka, for the first time.
Ravana's characterization will be the soul of the film. He will be presented as an ardent devotee of Lord Shiva and as well-versed pandit of the Vedas.
In a sense, Ravana marks the first ever grand film in the recent annals of Tollywood - a film that matches the grandeur of a Robot.
