Producer Anil Sunkara, who is reeling under flops like 'Agent' and 'Bhola Shankar,' is planning to wield the megaphone to bounce back into the game. "Probably he lost confidence in directors and is thinking of going behind the camera to deliver a smashing hit to revive his sagging fortunes," says a source. 'Anil Sunkara has directed a film 'Action 3D' featuring Allari Naresh in the past, but it didn't set the box office on fire. Undeterred, he is getting ready to don the director’s cap once again for a big-ticket entertainer. He has asked his team to weave an interesting story to regain his winning habit, adds the source.
After losing massive amounts in star-studded movies like 'Bhola Shankar' and 'Agent,' the entrepreneur-turned-producer has been facing financial woes. "He has lost around Rs 80 crores on two films and has to deliver a blockbuster to repay the loans and resurrect his banner, which has churned out many films in the last 10 years," adds the source.
Amdist huge loss ventures, he tasted massive success with comic caper 'Samajavaragamana' and proved that he could judge comedies more than commercial potboilers. "Of course, 'Samarajavaragamana' was a sleeper hit and garnered more than Rs 22 crores. He needs a few more such hits to breathe easy," adds a source further.
