After 'Dabangg', Salman readies for 'Ready'

It was after three weeks of no new releases in Bollywood when 'Anjaana Anjaani' and 'Robot' finally brought some spark back at the box office last weekend. However, no new release prior to these two films meant that 'Dabangg' had a clear ground for making its moolah.

All of this meant that the 'Dabangg' juggernaut continued to roll for many more days as third week was pretty impressive too with over 15 crores coming in. This resulted in 130 crores plus collections for this Salman Khan starrer which are tremendous by any standards. Though the film won't quite touch the 150 crore mark now, mainly because 'Anjaana Anjaani' has done quite well and there are multiple releases all through October, 'Dabangg' has still done at least double the theatrical business that one would have expected till a day before its release.

Says a trade expert, Even for producer Arbaaz Khan, the collections could well be way beyond their own imagination. Yes, 'Dabangg' seemed to be a hit in the making but a blockbuster status is totally unimaginable. It would require a real huge film for Salman now to top such a record.

Well, one wonders if that would now happen with 'Ready', Salman's next release, which would arrive in mid-2011.After 'Dabangg', Salman readies for 'Ready'
