After ‘Chanakya’, Ajay Devgn To Essay This Prominent Football Coach!

While the football fever is at its peak gripping the whole world, there is another lovely surprise from the B-Town! Guess what! After signing a series of interesting films such as Luv Ranjan’s next and ‘Chanakya’, Ajay Devgn has also signed a biopic based on the story of Syed Abdul Rahim, football coach and manager of the Indian National Football team from 1950-1963. This would be Ajay’s second biopic after ‘The Legend of Bhagat Singh’.

Announcing the news, the makers of the untitled film took to their social media where they shared a black and white picture with some shoeless feet and tweeted,” Elated and proud to announce a story never told as @ZeeStudios_ #BoneyKapoor & @freshlimefilms come together for a biopic on India’s legendary #Football coach, Syed Abdul Rahim, starring @ajaydevgn, directed by @CinemaPuraDesi, screenplay by @SaiwynQ, and dialogues by @writish.”

Helmed by Amit Sharma, the screenplay of the film has been penned by Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah, and will be bankrolled by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Joy Sengupta. The rest of the cast is yet to be revealed and the film is slated to go on floors next year.

Syed Abdul Rahim was a prominent Indian football team’s coach and manager between 1950 and 1963 and was regarded as the architect of modern Indian football who led the team to beat the tough South Korea team to win gold at the 1962 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Super-excited to watch Ajay Devgn’s brilliant performance! What say?
