Earlier this week, the Tamil Nadu had passed a bill which provides 7.5% quota in UG medical colleges for students of government schools. Following this development, actor Suriya who had recently posted a strong statement against NEET exam welcomed the move by the government.

Taking it to his Twitter page, Suriya thanked the Tamil Nadu government besides other political parties for contribution in ensuring 7.5% quota for government school students in medical colleges, and urged people to work together and support students.

On Sunday, Suriya made a strong statement against the NEET exam following the suicide of three medical students from the state, a day before the exam. Lashing out at the court, the exam and the governments, the actor requested people to voice out against the exam.
