As an elderly Irishman set off on his evening walk with his dog Jack, he fell into a ditch that he could not get out of. Thankfully, he had his loyal mate by his side who stayed with him throughout and even helped the police. In a tweet by the Irish police, the officers shared how they had difficulty finding the man and how Jack stepped in to save the day. They wrote: “Man's best friend. Elderly man out walking his dog last night near Portarlington fell into the ditch & couldn’t get out. Jack the Dog stayed by his side & showed Gardaí where he was. Even when ambulance arrived Jack wouldn’t rest unless he could see him! Owner and Jack home now.”

The dog had led the police to the man. In a photo shared by the Garda Síochána, Jack can be seen waiting patiently outside the ambulance for his owner. This has gotten netizens gushing love for the four-legged furry saviour.
