Adoor Gopalakrishnan during the press meet to promote his new release Pinneyum` talked about the hurdles faced by good cinema.He pointed out that new directors are not getting adequate help from industry and government to bring out novel concepts. C R No 89, a film by Sudevan is a good film that he had recently seen. NFDC is not doing enough to promote good cinema. The officials of NFDC have a star culture and are oblivious of the needs of a good cinema.

Pinneyum was shot in digital format. He was apprehensive about digital format initially, but he took pain to learn it and now he finds it much easier to shoot then films. Adoor also told that he likes comedy films the most. Out of all Dileep films, his most favorite is CID Moosa, opined the director. Dileep talked about Pinnayum` and said that it is one of the best movies of Adoor. He considers this opportunity to act in an Adoor movie as his luck and he found that Adoor as a director had hundred percent knowledge about films which helped him in his acting and made it easy.
