Adivi Sesh is turning out to be a lucky charm for his producers. In 2016, when Prasad V Potluri-produced 'Kshanam' hit the screens, the producer had no hit till then. 'Kshanam', written and acted by Adivi Sesh', was a low-budget movie that became PVP's first hit. It was his first big hit.
For perspective, here is how it went. Made on a budget of Rs. 1 CR, 'Kshanam' went on to make Rs. 10 CR, becoming a box-office hit and earning big amounts from other sources, especially through Hindi remake rights. PVP had produced big-budget movies before this thriller but no film had brought massive returns. Low-budgeted 'Kshanam' was a shining exception.
Cut to 2018, something similar has happened. 'Goodachari', made on a budget of less than Rs. 5 CR, is set to make about Rs. 20 CR from all sources. Box-office collections are encouraging, even in the Overseas territory. Lucrative remake offers are coming from more than a couple of languages. AK Entertainments, which bought the movie, is laughing its way to the bank. Much like PVP banner, AK too is not known for hit projects in general. With 'Goodachari', Adivi Sesh has brought luck to the banner with his writing talent.
When 'Kshanam' was remade in Hindi as 'Baaghi-2' and released this year, it went on to mint huge money at the box-office. The success of 'Goodachari' inspires confidence that history will be repeated.
