After achieving success with two hits in 2022 – the Hindi-Telugu bilingual Major and the sequel Hit 2 to Sailesh Kolanu’s crime thriller, Adivi Sesh is meticulously choosing his projects, opting for the 'slow and steady' approach in his upcoming films. Earlier this year, he announced the sequel to Goodachari 2 with a grand press meet in Mumbai, and now, the star has officially commenced shooting for this thrilling venture.
Goodachari 2, a collaborative production by TG Vishwa Prasad and Abhishek Agarwal under People Media Factory and Abhishek Agarwal Arts, in association with AK Entertainments, marks the directorial debut of Vinay Kumar Sirigineedi, who previously served as an editor for Sesh’s Major. The film introduces Banita Sandhu to Telugu cinema, and filming for this high-stakes thriller has begun today.
Adivi Sesh confirmed the exciting news through a tweet, stating, ‘MASSIVE. This is how we do it. #G2 #Goodachari2.’ After completing a scene today, the actor, donning a beard and looking suave in a suit, added, “Suited up. Loved shooting for this scene.” The production has erected a lavish floor set in Hyderabad for Goodachari 2. The sequel delves into the world of a spy dedicated to defending his nation while confronting adversaries beyond India's borders.
Insiders suggest that Goodachari 2 will be the most expensive film in Sesh’s career, set to release in multiple languages in the second half of 2024. Kodati Pavan Kalyan has joined as the editor, and Sricharan Pakala, Sesh’s frequent collaborator, is in charge of composing the music. Additional details about the cast and crew of this espionage thriller will be revealed soon.
For those unfamiliar with the first part, Goodachari, directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka (who also directed Major), featured Sobhita Dhulipala as the female lead. Prakash Raj, Vennela Kishore, Supriya Yarlagadda, Anish Kuruvilla, Madhu Shalini, and Rakesh Varre were also part of the 2018 thriller, which is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
