Adivi Sesh's biographical drama 'Major' is just few weeks away from its release and these days, the actor is busy with promotions of the same. Based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, 'Major' is a passion project for Adivi and he is super excited for audience to witness it. At the trailer launch event of the film few days back, Sesh recalled how he convinced Major Sandeep's parents to give their permission and blessings for the biopic.
The actor shared, “The first time we called uncle, he hung up on us. The second time we called, he hung up on us. Then we had a friend of ours, a girl, call up. So it started with us hoping that they would not hang up the phone on us."
He further added, "Then we went to meet them the first time. We started talking to them. We just had to give them the assurance that we are genuine. They told us how a British television crew came and spent two days in their house, researching Sandeep’s life, and talking to them about their feelings. And then it was all packaged into a 30-second capsule. So we had to convince them that we are genuine.”
Apart from all that, Sesh also happens to bear a resemblance with Major Unnikrishnan. Talking about that, he said, “And it really helped that my face looks like Major Sandeep’s face. So as we were leaving after our third meeting, aunty said, Mera beta lag raha hai. So that’s how, at least from aunty’s side, we had the green signal."
Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, 'Major' is set to release theatrically on 3rd of June.
