Adivi Sesh announces release date of ‘Major’

‘Major’, starring Adivi Sesh in the lead, will hit the screens on 11 February 2022. Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the film will release in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam.

On Wednesday, the makers said that the film’s production works are over. Shot in a span of four months, the ambitious action drama was shot in 75 locations. Eight huge sets were erected. 

The transformation of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan from a young boy to a commander will be traced by the story, which unfolds in the backdrop of the Mumbai 26/11 attacks. “Based on the life of real-life Hero Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, Major, the film, aims to show how this valiant soldier saved the lives of numerous hostages before being martyred by the terrorists who wreaked havoc in the Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, India on the 26th of November, 2008,” the makers today said. 

Announcing the date, the ‘Evaru’ and ‘Goodachari’ actor said, “A massive film inspired by the life, love, and LEGACY of #MajorSandeepUnnikrishnan (sic).” 

Also featuring Sobhita Dhulipala and Saiee Manjrekar, ‘Major’ is produced by Sony Pictures Films India, GMB Entertainment and A+S Movies. Prakash Raj, Revathi, and Murali Sharma have key roles.
