Raja Vannemreddy, who had earlier gave a hit film like 'Kshemamga Velli Labhamgaa Randi' and other films had once again came out with a complete entertainer like 'Aadivaram Aadavallaku Selavu'. It may be mentioned here that Dasari Narayana Rao, who had directed more than 100 films and scripted stories more than 150 had given story for this film.
The basic purpose of the story is that the women, who work for their family all through the year, need some rest. Though everyone accepts this, nobody implements it truly and at a time everyone is fighting for equal rights for men and women, are not giving any scope or rest for women after getting married, with male ego. The film is an eye-opener to the male-dominated society.
There is an apartment called Brindavan Apartments in which Ramulamma (Kovai Sarala) is a servant maid. The apartment has an executive body in which Bellu Pulla Rao (Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao) is secretary, Venugopal (Venumadhav) is treasure, Nagabharanam Narasimha Sastry is president and Rambabu (Krishna Bhagawan) is the joint secretary. All these four have a heavy male ego.
Even after 25 years of marriage, Pulla Rao used to harass his wife Savitri (Sakuntala), while Rambabu keeps harassing his wife, though he has no job and lives on the earnings of his wife Rajani (Surekhavani), Venugopal harasses his wife Gita (Gita Singh) despite she is also working in a company, while Narasimha Sastry's wife dies and marries a dancer (Abhinayasri). But in the same apartment, there is a person called Ananda Rao (Sivaji) who always works at home and treats his wife (Suhasini) like a queen.
Ramulamma encourages these women to revolt against their husbands. She makes them to complete with their husbands in the elections to the apartment executive body and gets them elected. Ramulamma makes a resolution declaring that the women in the apartment will have a holiday on Sunday and don't work on that day. At this juncture, they come to know that Ananda Rao's wife is in coma and he is serving her by treating her as a child.
Unable to digest their wives gaining an upper hand, the husbands decide to teach them a lesson and serve them divorce notices. But, the women don't care it. Irked over their behaviour, the husbands go to court and employ a top advocate (Jayaprakash Reddy) to argue their case.
He makes the court believe that the wives are harassing the husbands and pleads the court to grant divorce. No advocate dares to argue on behalf the women. However, in the climax the story takes a twist with a Supreme Court advocate Prakash (Prakashraj) appears in the court and appeals to allow him to argue on the women's behalf.
He asks the husbands how they would survive without their wives. He tactfully made them to admit that they would employ servants to do those jobs. As they admit that they would pay salaries to the servants and get their job done, Prakash appeals to the court to make them pay for the services rendered by their wives to that period (the years of marriage) which comes to around Rs 1.25 crore for Bellu Pulla Rao.
As they plead that they could not pay such hefty amounts, Prakash argues on behalf of the entire women community saying that it was the women who work for all the 365 days without any holiday and pleads with the court to declare one day in a week as holiday.
However, the women appeal to the court that they don't want compensation but only want their husbands as their husbands are like children and can't do any work on their own. With the women's sentiment growing, the film ends with a happy note, with the women taking leisure on Sunday with the hubbies working at home.
The performance of all the artistes is to the maximum extent and the entire film is devoted to comedy. Th
