Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram shot and completed 'Varma' directed by Bala as his debut movie but unfortunately producer Mukesh Ratilal Mehta discarded the entire film stating that he was not satisfied with it. Mehta further announced that he will be making a new version of the 'Arjun Reddy' remake which will be directed by Girisaaya.
It was announced that 'Aditya Varma' will have Dhruv Vikram and Banita Sandhu as the lead pair supported by Priya Anand and Anbudasan. Ravi K Chandran was roped in as the cinematographer and Radhan retained as the music composer.
Reports emerged that 'Aditya Varma' is also dropped and that the producers have decided to dub the original Telugu movie 'Arjun Reddy' and release it in Tamil. Producer Mehta has slammed the reports and has stated "So sorry to disappoint whoever is posting these false stories shooting in full swing and the crew leaves to Portugal for a song on 9th April" adding that the film will hit the screens in July 2019 as planned.
