The debut movie of Chiyaan Vikram's son Dhruv Vikram, which is the official Tamil remake of 2017 Tollywood Superhit movie Arjun Reddy, had met with controversies, as the first version of the remake, Varmaa directed by national award winning maker Bala was scrapped.

Following this, the whole team was revamped retaining Dhruv and music director Radhan alone, and the movie was rechristened to Adithya Varma, with Bollywood heroine Banita Sandhu of October fame roped in as the female lead and Priya Anand playing another important character.

While there were speculations that the movie might be dropped, it has been revealed officially that the movie is indeed making progress and is still on, as team Adithya Varma has begun shooting at Lisbon, Portugal. It has been expected that Adithya Varma, directed by debutant Gireesaaya will hit screens in June-July.
