After breaking several extant records in Tamil Nadu and a few overseas locations, Vijay-starrer 'Mersal' is arriving in Telugu as 'Adirindhi'. The film releases on Nov 9 (tomorrow).

"We are happy to be coming in Telugu after the Tamil version has grossed about Rs. 225 crores so far," the makers say. Northstar Entertainment's Sharrath Marar has bought the film as its strategical partner.

"We are gearing up for a wide release in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and the film has already raised a lot of curiosity among the audiences. The film focuses on the corruption in the medical industry and Atlee has weaved an excellent story around this concept," the makers add.

The screenplay is by Vijayendra Prasad and S Ramana Girivasan. Vijay will be seen in triple roles - a doctor, a magician, and another as a village panchayat president. The flashback sequences and SJ Suryah's villainy have been critically acclaimed.

Also starring Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha, and Nithya Menen in lead roles, its music is by AR Rahman. GK Vishnu is the cinematographer, Ruban is the editor and Anal Arasu has composed the action sequences.
