After netting a gross of something like Rs. 225 Cr in Tamil, 'Mersal' has released in Telugu as 'Adirindhi' this Thursday.

Contrary to the recent assurances by the CBFC that the GST dialogue in the climax has been allowed to be screened as it is in Telugu, the same has been muted.  At least three lines spoken by Vijay's character in the climax have been muted; only the background music is heard.

In the first half, another controversial line has been axed.  It's related to Digital India.  Vadivelu's character wailing that Demonetization has left people cashless has been muted.

However, the line related to how many children recently died in a Gorakhpur hospital for want of oxygen is there intact.  Vijay's character doesn't mention the place where the incident took place.
