Weeks ago, Saif Ali Khan stirred a row by saying that Ravana will be humanized in 'Adipurush'. The actor created social media backlash against the Prabhas-Om Raut film by making the comments. He later apologized for his remarks.
Cut to the present, his 'Tandav', currently streaming on an OTT platform, has come in for criticism. As per sections of Netizens, the Hindi-language web series is anti-Hindu because it has a character getting into the avatar of Lord Shiva and doing an 'inappropriate' thing or two. Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the political thriller has Saif as a politician by the name of Samar Pratap Singh.
BJP leader Kapil Mishra has described the show for being ‘anti Dalit’ and ‘full of communal hatred against Hindus’. He has urged everyone to write to Union Minister Prakash Javdekar on minister.inb@gov.in.
There is a social media trend seeking a ban on 'Tandav'.
